6th Grade Retreat- Angela
“Sugar Creek surprised me a lot. It was a lot different than I thought it would be. I guess my idea of worship was that you sit down, maybe sing a little, but just listen to the Pastor. It was a lot better than I thought. I liked hearing all the stories and faith journeys. The labyrinth and activities all helped me learn about God. i learned in the maze game that it is ok to ask for help. That we have to ask God’s help to make it through.”

“When I first came I thought it was going to be pretty strict. I just didn’t know what to think. But then as soon as we got here it was fun. Like the worship last night helped me believe that everyone has good and bad in their life. When you’re going through it you think you are the only one going on that path, but hearing everyone’s faith journeys helps us know that if they can have faith in it, then we can too. It really helped my faith grow.”

“I think this experience brought me closer to God. When we first came I didn’t know it would be different from church. Not that church is bad, but I didn’t know that in this worship we’d be singing and doing other things, not just sitting and listening. Every activity helped bring me closer to God and really connect with God more.”

“My favorite part was the labyrinth. When you’re walking around you don’t notice everyone around you. It’s like you’re on a path with God. I felt it was like life, like every step was the next stage. People pass you by but no matter what happens you can talk to God. It helps me know I can talk to God more.” Mallory
